½ tsp badi (black) cardamom powder use only seeds
1 tsp. green cardamom powder
1 cup milk
½ cup water or as needed
½ cup yogurt
1 cup almond halves (Peeled)
1/4 cup chopped fresh coconut slices (optional)
4 tsp Poppy seeds
METHOD
Add butter and ghee and cardamom to the flour and mix it in until the flour sort of gathers together.
Add sugar in lukewarm milk and mix.
Add sugar & milk mixture gradually to the flour mixture and mix until the dough comes together. You may need some water, add little by little as needed until the dough comes together. Do not over knead.
Cover it and let it rest for 10 -15 minutes.
Heat the oven to 375*F
Roll out the dough to about 3/8th inch thickness
You can shape it oval, rectangle or round. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Take a sharp paring knife and prick the dough rounds a few times. This ensures they don't puff up while baking.
Press in the almond and coconut slices, brush with a little milk & Yogurt paste and sprinkle some poppy seeds on top.
Bake for 25 - 30 minutes until light brown on top.
