METHOD
Yaji used to be made in Kashmiri Pandits house hold in Kashmir, but they also remained in the grandma's kitchen and remained confined to that and gradually lost. But I am a Kashmiri, so how can I forget this like that.
- Wash & clean walnuts in boiled water. Keep aside
- Take Rice flour in a bowl
- Add salt to the flour
- Add cumin seed, celery seeds (Ajwain) & walnuts in rice flour.
- Mix water little by little and knead it
- Cut dough in to small balls.
- Give the shape of a cup or a bowl, rotating a dough on the palm.
- Now put oil in a frying pan and keep it warm.
- When the oil is hot, fry two or three pieces at a time.
- Fry it till golden brown.
- Yaji is ready and serve it with Tea.
