Ingredients

  • ½ Gal. milk
  • 1 & ¼ cup Sooji
  • 1 & ¼ Cups sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
  • 1/2 Cup cashew nuts
  • 8-10 Soaked saffron strands
  • Rose water(1 tbsp)
  • Pistachio nuts and poppy seeds for garnishing
  • Grated coconut 1/2 cup




METHOD

  • Put milk in a thick bottomed pan and add sugar to it.
  • Wash Sooji and soak in water.
  • Add Sooji slowly to the milk, make sure the lumps are not formed.
  • Add grated coconut and chopped cashew nuts.
  • Cook it till it turns thick.
  • Check the consistency of firni on a porcelain plate.
  • Stir it for a while.
  • Add rose water to the firni.
  • Place it in a plate or bowl and garnish with poppy seeds and Pistachio and keep it in   refrigerator.
  • Serve chilled.
