Ingredients

  • 1 lb. Chicken with Bone
  • 1 Medium size onion sliced
  • 1 tsp Ginger Powder
  • 1 tsp roasted cumin Powder
  • 4 cloves
  • 1" Cinnamon stick
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 4 Green Cardamom crushed
  • 2 Black Cardamom crushed
  • 1 tbsp Oil


Kashmiri Dum Kokur- Kokur means chicken



METHOD

Method:

For Marinade:

 4 tbsp yogurt
 2 tsp paprika or Red chili powder
 1 tsp Salt or as per taste
 2 tsp Ginger-Garlic Paste 
 2 tsp Fennel Powder
 1/2 tsp Ginger Powder
 ½ tsp turmeric powder

Take a bowl & Mix chicken with all the marinade ingredients and let it sit for 2 to 3 hrs.
Take a pan and add oil, Turn stove on at medium heat. Add cloves, cinnamon & bay leaf.
Add onion and sauté till brown
Add marinated chicken along with the masala and sauté it for few minutes
Add cumin powder, and crushed cardamom powder and mix well.
Add 1 cup of water cover and cook on medium heat till chicken is tender
check salt and add more if needed. 
Cook on low heat till oil floats on top.
